Akhal-Teke


The Akhal-Teke stands about 15 to 16 hands high.You can tell that it is this breed because they are lean built with a long, thin neck; sloping croup, long pasterns, pronounced withers, sparse mane and tail, and lustous coat. Many colourss including bays, chestnuts, dun, palomino, grullo, cremello, perlino and black. Their special qualities are Metallic sheen to coat; soft, gliding gaits; extraordinary endurance. They are best suited for endurance and dressage. They are from Turkmenian desert east of the Caspain Sea
